Netherlands will Lockdown until March

Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rute said that most of the Netherlands’ lockdown measures implemented since October last year will be maintained until March due to the fears of variant strain will cause a surge in COVID-19 cases.

The Netherlands government also confirmed that the reopening of elementary schools, secondary schools and day care in Netherlands will not happen before March.

The new COVID-19 virus strain is more contagious, Netherlands has imposed a strict government lockdown since last December and imposed a curfew in Jan. This is the first time that the country has imposed a curfew since World War II.
